Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner (formerly named as the University of Bikaner, Bikaner) has been established by the University of Bikaner Act, 2003 (Act No. 13 of 2003), the Rajasthan Gazette Extraordinary Part-4(Ka), published on June 07, 2003 as a new State University. The Headquarters of the University located at Bikaner. Notwithstanding anything contained in any law for the currently valid but subject to the provisions of the University of Rajasthan Act, 1946, the Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner Act, 1987 (Act No. 39 of 1987), Act Rajasthan Sanskrit University, 1998 ( Law No. 10 of 1998), the Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology Udaipur Act of 2002 (Act No. 8 of 2000) and Rajasthan Ayurved University Act 2002 (Act 15 of 2002).
