BMW X6 M50d : One of the first new cars from BMW India launched this year will be the third generation X6. BMW has started accepting bookings for the SUV coupe ahead of the announcement of prices in the coming weeks. Prices are expected to be in the Rs 1.04 crore (ex-showroom) region to rival the Audi Q8 and Porsche Cayenne Coupe. Along with the new spine are a raft of exterior changes and visual updates, not to mention a revised cabin layout as well. The new, third-gen X6 is also larger than its predecessor – 15mm wide and 26mm tall, to be specific.
The new X6 has been launched internationally in four variants (two xLine versions and two M Sport derivatives), offering two engine options – a 3.0-liter inline-six (petrol and diesel) and a meatier 4.4-liter. V8 (Petrol). While the V8 is exclusively available in the M50i (523bhp and 750Nm), the 3.0-liter unit is offered in the twin-turbo diesel xDrive 30d (262bhp and 620Nm), the twin-turbo petrol xDrive 40i (335bhp and 450Nm) and the quad-powered diesel engine. -Turbo diesel M50d (294bhp and 760Nm). We have yet to determine which variants will come here. However, as before, it is expected to remain a CBU unit to rival the Audi Q8 and Porsche Cayenne Coupe.

It looks like BMW India is gearing up to kick-start 2023 with the launch of the new and latest generation of its iconic coupe-crossover – the X6. The new generation of Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) made its global debut in July last year and is now listed on BMW India’s website (as seen below). Additionally, the car is listed with both its trim options – xylene and M Sport. As for the current/outgoing X6 model, it was only available in the xDrive35i M Sport variant in the last two years and was recently discontinued.
While pre-bookings for the new X6 are open, BMW India is yet to reveal a confirmed launch date. For those unaware, the new X6 is based on the new Cluster Architecture (CLAR) platform, which is also based on the new X5. BMW has already updated its India website with information about the new-gen X6, which suggests that it will be available in two trims – xylene and M Sport. The former sports black cladding and more chrome elements on the front and rear fenders, while the latter gets gloss back bits instead of the chrome ones, along with a different alloy wheel design.
